Billboard- finish version
The background represents the show, presenting the audience with a familiar location from the trailer, showing consistency across the products.
• The ITV branding is consistent and obvious for the audience.
• The minimal approach to the poster works well in showing the audience a metaphor for loneliness and isolation. Which occur throughout the show.
• The inclusion of the two main characters from the drug storyline generates familiarity for the audience who have seen the trailer.
• The costumes stick with the style established by the trailer and show class & age of the characters.
• The poster isn't over cluttered with text and makes it easy for the audience to pick up on the main themes quickly and easily.
• The tagline of the poster has no fixed meaning so the audience are forced to negotiate the reading creating debate and generating more publicity
• The way the stars interact with the camera and are performing is consistent to the personalities set out in the trailer & represents the attitude and tone of the show.

Billboard- second version
As you can see i changed the several aspects of the billboard to fit in with the audience feedback i received on the last draft,i feel this is more like a real product however the AUDIENCE FEEDBACK is as follows;
Change the colour of the black text- I was told i needed to change the colour so it was easier to read, i also went on to change the '1' of ITV 1 to increase brand recognition.
Stretch George Street- I had to manipulate the size of the george street writing as with it being that small it doesn't fit the conventions of the ITV instituiatonal branding

Billboard- first draft
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK- The background needs to be desaturated to give the soap a grittier feel, the 2 characters needed to be the same size to give the poster a more balanced feel. the font of 'good television' also doesnt work as i had misinterpritated the exsisting product i had taken it from.

Finished magazine front cover
As you can see i did make several of the changes from my first draft as suggested from my audience feedback. I added the barcode and price which were requirements for the magazine, however i didnt add the banner and change the layout as the suggested lay out look more squashed onto the page and didnt fit around the picture as well.

Planning evidence- Magazine front cover first attempt
This was my first attempt of a TV magazine front cover the audience feedback i received was as follows; Main photo looks good but put boxes in opposite corners so Bamford is top left, Ivywood is bottom right. Maybe use different pic for Ivywood so you can use a circle instead of an oval, will look more balanced.
Needs a banner or another feature at the bottom of the page but this might change when you tinker with the Bamford and Ivy Wood features, then needs barcode and price
Good work,

Planning evidence- Magazine front cover research
Above shows my research into the selected brand of magazine i used as inspiration for my product. i used this brand as i feel it reflected my soap well as it was a serious soap trailer and not a cheesy trashy one which would be better match with 'tv week' for example. Here shows again more planning into the positions that would be used in the making of my front cover
Planning evidence- Magazine front cover frame
Here is a rough sketch of the layout of the magazine i made, i used the conventions of 'tv satelitte week' to help me to structure my model.
Planning evidence- Shooting schedule 4/4
This is the shooting schedule for the phonebox/ office scene, all ideas mentions practically kept the same

Soap trailer rough cut
This is my first cut of our soap trailer for 'George Street', our audience feedback was too;
adjust the soundtrack level- as it was over powering the voices in several areas and this led to the audience loosing track of the narrative.
insert title cards at the start and the end- we needed to add title cards in to indicate to the viewing audience which soap was being advertise and when it was on etc.

Dallas 2012 trailer
- Non digetic soundtrack creates tension- edits in time with the beat. Slightly modified iconic soundtrack
- Several family fude story lines, edited together
- 2 generations arguing over the same thing, older characters offer continuity to older viewers and new younger characters attract in the children of the original viewers.
- starts with the helicopter shot from the title sequence of the original
- faded cuts give it a glamours feel
- CU of JR's watch and hands- showing hes aged
- then close of up preexisting character
- shot reverse shot showing the two sons of the original characters- audience presume its there sons as they are arguing over the same thing.
- symmetrical shot of the two sons
- "my whole life I've been trying to put the Ewinging name back on top" suggesting whats been happening since the show stopped
- Zoom into old house to show nothing changed since they left
- "bobby was always a fool" old rivalry's still there
- "I'm sick to death of this family devouring itself over money"
- title cards tell the story to the viewers

The young and the restless trailer
- non digetic soundtrack adds tension and suspense, merges into a digetic sound at the end
- one main story line throughout
- smart, attractive people- at a dinner party looks like a big expensive house
- shows they are at a expensive party as its shot in the champagne glass
- shot on a constant pan however all edited together so it seems like one smooth shot
- Happy people living the American dream until the shady guy on the phone at 10 seconds then it takes a darker turn
- the lighting also gets darker after 10 seconds
- "if you ask me this was no accident" dramatic storyline
